Meet Abby Janousek of Omaha, Nebraska, and David Ktoba of Dallas, Texas.
While Wayne State hardly boasts the population of either of these urban centers, Abby and David still found plenty to do in and out of the classroom to adjust to their new rural life.
Abby has found a home with her sorority, her friends in the Science Education program, and in her role as a Resident Assistant in Bowen Hall.
Abby also enjoys visiting downtown Wayne for shopping, movies, or a quick cup of coffee.
David has found small-college life still offers plenty of big opportunities, such as his job with Wayne State’s Network and Technology Services department servicing hardware while working toward his Computer Science and Web Analyst degree.
Both say the Wayne community has made them feel right at home.
- WSC is only 30 minutes from Norfolk, Nebraska, and 45 minutes from Sioux City, Iowa. Both cities have all of the shopping and restaurants you need for a break from studying.
- Omaha is less than 2 hours away if you need to spend some time in a big city.
